Program & Project Management
Many members of our DHS team have expertly managed programs valued at over $100 million, and some have managed projects involving multi-billion-dollar infrastructure upgrades. Our DHS team members excel in managing programs for control rooms, grid operations, EV Chargers, service centers, battery storage, trailer management, NERC-CIP, substation upgrades, synchronous condenser (civil construction) and more. All our clients have unique requirements, and our qualified staff delivers full-service, tailored solutions from pre-construction planning and design management to construction and close-out.
Our “Navigate 4 Success” process (NAV4 Process) is our value and results-driven method that sets the bar high to plan, deliver, and close out every project within the client’s designated schedule and budget.
Construction Management & Inspection
Our expert construction management professionals ensure that projects are delivered within budget, scope, and schedule, and at high-quality results. Our suite of services spans the entire project life cycle—from pre-construction planning to project close out.
Our inspectors possess the training, certifications, and tools to deliver consistent and professional work products every time. We provide experts in civil/structural, utilities, OSHPD, DSA, and MEP systems. As the eyes and ears on the ground, our inspectors ensure that contractors comply with all project plans and specifications.
Risk Management & Claims Mitigation
At DHS, we implement a proactive risk management philosophy of identifying and understanding all the risks a project may face before we begin. Our schedule analysis expertise provides the whole picture of a potential dispute and offers proactive risk management recommendations to reduce cost and project impacts.
We are also qualified in settling claims for large public clients, such as LA Metro, City of Los Angeles, Caltrans, and many others. Though our services are customized to align with each client’s needs and claim resolution strategy, we employ our fundamentals and structured approach based on prior documented experience—our lessons-learned.
One of the many value added services we provide is 3D modeling utilizing software such as BIM, Revit, SketchUp, and others to help our Clients with MEP coordination, clash detection, conceptual design and even 4D scheduling.
In addition to managing the controls system, our team effectively plans and executes projects. Our project controls professionals excel in creating comprehensive, logic-driven, and resourced-loaded Primavera P6 schedules. We provide the expertise needed to proactively manage and track budgets using best practices and industry standard software.
At DHS Consulting our goal is to make sure our Clients receive the most cost-effective design for their projects. We realize that this is an integral part of the design process, so we work closely with our Clients, Engineers and our customers to be able to generate the most value from the design. Through our collaborative workshops early in the planning phase, we can bring unique ideas and perspectives to the design, life-cycle cost including operation and maintenance.
From our many years of construction experience, we realize that the most effective way to positively impact a project is before the project is out to bid and boots are on the ground. By then, changes to the project design have a high probability of negatively impacting the project. It is for this reason, that along with value engineering, we believe that constructability reviews are essential to successful project delivery. As part of our thorough constructability review process we review everything from material staging areas, site access, operation and maintenance and most importantly, safety.
